You Don't Have to Quit Drinking. You Just Have Options Now.

There's a version of this post that starts with statistics about the sober-curious movement. How it's grown, how many people are doing Dry January, how Gen Z drinks less than any generation before them.

But honestly? That's not why most people end up here.

Most people end up here because they had one too many rough mornings. Or they noticed that the third drink stopped being fun and started being a habit. Or they're just tired of feeling like garbage on a Sunday when they actually want to enjoy it.

That's not a problem to solve with a program or a label. It's just a feeling. And it deserves a real answer.

"Sober-Curious" Doesn't Mean What You Think It Means

The phrase gets a lot of eye rolls, and fair enough — it can sound like a trend. Like something you do for a month and post about.

But at its core, sober-curious just means you're asking a question most people never bother to ask: does alcohol actually make this better?

Sometimes the answer is yes. A cold beer at a ballgame. A glass of wine with a slow dinner. Those things are real.

But a lot of the time — the obligatory drink at the work event, the nightcap that turns into three, the weekend that you can't quite remember the end of — the answer is more complicated.

Sober-curious isn't about swearing off alcohol forever. It's about having enough awareness to choose, instead of just defaulting.

The Problem With "Just Not Drinking"

Here's what nobody tells you when you decide to cut back: social situations get weird.

You show up to the party. Everyone has something in their hand. You grab a soda water with lime and suddenly you're fielding questions. Are you okay? Are you pregnant? Are you on medication?

It's exhausting. And it makes the "not drinking" choice feel way harder than it needs to be.

What people in that situation actually want isn't sobriety as a statement. They want something to hold. Something that gives them the same sense of ease and connection that a drink used to — without the part that costs them the next morning.

That's a real need. And for a long time, the options were pretty bad. Sparkling water. Mocktails that taste like dessert. Non-alcoholic beer that somehow manages to be both watery and heavy at the same time.

This Is Why Truself Exists

When TJ started Truself, it wasn't to cash in on a trend. It was to solve the actual problem.

He wanted something you could bring to a backyard hang and not have to explain. Something that helped him unwind without winding him too tight. Something that worked with his anxiety instead of against it.

The result is a fast-acting THC and CBD hemp seltzer that hits in about 15 minutes, keeps you present and social, and lets you wake up the next morning feeling like yourself.

Not buzzed into oblivion. Not white-knuckling through a party. Just... good.

How It Actually Feels

This part matters, because it's different from what most people expect.

It's not an edible. It's not a shot of something. It's a drink — carbonated, clean, easy to sip — that happens to contain a small dose of THC and CBD working together.

The 5mg version is a gentle lift. Relaxed, a little more open, still completely in control. The kind of feeling where the conversation gets easier and the evening gets lighter.

The 10mg version has a little more to it. Still smooth, still social, but you'll feel it more clearly. Good for winding down at home or a night where you want to lean in a bit further.

Neither one will make you feel out of control. That's kind of the point. You get to decide how the night goes.

It's Not About Being Dry. It's About Being Intentional.

You don't have to identify as sober-curious. You don't have to do Dry January. You don't have to explain anything to anyone.

You can just decide that tonight you want to feel good without the hangover. That's it. That's the whole thing.

Truself is for the nights when you want something in your hand that actually does something — and for the mornings after when you're glad you made that call.

Your best self doesn't require a label. Just a better option.
